The celebration
We will be getting married at Quinta do Avesso. The ceremony will take place at 2 PM. Please aim to arrive at the venue from 1 PM onwards. The ceremony will be followed by a Wedding Breakfast for all guests at the venue. We will then party on into the night!

The venue and transportation
The venue is on the outskirts of Porto close to the airport, and a 20 minute drive from downtown Porto. To get there you can either drive your own car, take an Uber/Bolt, or arrange a taxi. There is no public transport to the venue and we would highly advise you arrange your transport in advance.
For those arranging a taxi or Uber home, please let us know in advance as the venue can organise transport back to the city centre at the end of the party.
The venue has a big parking area, childrens entertainers, and play areas. The venue is fully accessible and without stairs. The venue doesn’t have rooms to stay overnight.
Travelling to Porto
Porto has a lot to offer for all price ranges, family sizes, and types of vacation. Porto isn’t a big city so getting around by car is quick and relatively easy. You can also commute by metro, bus, and train.
Depending on the length of your stay, think about the types of activities you want to do and then decide if you would like to stay downtown, by the beach, or closer to the venue.
Here are our recommendations of good quality hotels and locations, but have a browse yourself at hotels.com, airbnb, and booking.com to see everything the city has to offer.
What to expect
Our wedding will be a mix of Portuguese and English traditions. Here are some things to expect throughout the day:
- There will be a translator during the ceremony so everyone can get understand what is going on. The staff at the venue will be able to speak both English and Portuguese
- You can expect to have a mix of Portuguese and English traditional food as well as vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options
- There will be an open bar, with a lot of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages (please drink reponsibly)
- Weddings in Portugal can run until the very early hours of the morning (venues are open till around 6am). You are free to stay and party with us all night or as long as you can stay awake.
Wedding gifts
We have been together for while now - a whole pandemic included, imagine that - so we have a lot of stuff already.
We are also aware that we’re asking a lot of you to travel all the way to Portugal, which is already a stretch and so we aren’t expecting a lot of presents as well.
However, if a gift is your intention any help towards our honeymoon funds will be greatly appreciated.
